AP Exam Update from the College Board

The College Board just announced its plan for the 2020 AP exams on their AP website:

Here’s the synopsis:

• Traditional AP Exams will NOT take place in 2020.

• This year, students can take a 45-minute online exam at home.

• Two different dates will be offered for each test, so you can choose to take a test sooner or later. These dates will be announced by April 3rd.

• College Board has provided a detailed breakdown of what content will and will NOT be covered, adjusted for the new format and excluding topics unlikely to have been covered in school due to closures.

• College Board will offer online resources for self-study (available March 25), and additional supports for teachers and schools.

• College Board believes that colleges will support this solution, allowing AP students to earn credit for their work this year. (College Board indicates that colleges have accepted a shortened AP Exam for college credit when groups of students have experienced emergencies.)
